BROMANTM is able to offer free long distance within the continental US and other 33+ International and Global destinations. After you sign up, we send you a free USB Dialer Device (UNIFONE 701) that connects to your PC/Laptop USB port. User account set-up and activation is done automatically on line through BROMANTM Network Servers, you can call anywhere anytime with your UNIFONE for as long as you have Internet access with your PC/Laptop.
All you need is:

• A broadband connection such as Wireless ISP/ Cable or DSL
• PC/Laptop at least PIII running on Windows XP or latest Operating system
• A credit card (Visa/ Mastercard / Amex) with a US billing address
• USB Dialing Device Provided to you (Free of Charge) when you sign up.

 

What is BROMAN e-Tone multimedia voice terminal?
BROMAN e-Tone multimedia voice terminal is a voice message terminal that communicate to USB port of computer, make use of Internet, it realize the communication of internet to telephone network and to mobile network.

How to Install the BROMAN e-Tone UNIFONE USB dialing device?

A Start-up disc together with UNIFONE 701 VoIP phone, only insert the start-up disc into CD-ROM, then system install by itself, when the system is updating over the network, it will display icon of telephone receiver at the low right of screen:

If the icon is red ,it means the UNIFONE is not yet Plugged-in or activated , Check and Plug-in the USB connector to the USB port of your PC / laptop computer , then the icon will turn to green, the UNIFONE is now ready for use to make your FREE out going phone calls .

You can dial at the condition of well installation and well network status. The following window will appear (Note: the window will be often upgraded automatically from network):

Telephone Number Client Log-on Status

If the phone is invalid:
The phone has been built in a global unique telephone number and security code in it before shipping. If you use an invalid phone or your computer’s USB port has problem, there will be the following windows to be appeared:

Use a valid phone or check USB port.
Connection Problem:
If the speed of network is not enough (Less than 50 Kbps) or fail to make an outgoing connection, the following window will appear on your PC/laptop screen monitor:

Make sure the network connection is well with min. 50 Kbps, check the speed of network.

How to Dial a Landline or Mobile Telephone Number:
In the usually case, you will see the follow interface when using a valid phone:

After several seconds (sometimes between 5 seconds or longer, depending on status of network), if the following icon interface does appear as shown below, you can now dial a regular phone or mobile: (see your free out calling destination lists for land-line and mobile phone numbers)

Now you can use it as a common phone, dial the number directly from phone keypad, then press “Dial” to make a call.
How to dial a number correctly?

The right way to dial a regular telephone’s number is as follows: (country code) (area code) (telephone number). For example, the telephone number of BROMAN LLC in the USA is 408 748 33210 here 408 is area code, 7483321 is telephone number, 1 is USA country code. So the dial number on phone keypad is 14087483321. You need follow the rule even if dial a local number. That is you have to add country code and area code. For example, if you are in Santa Clara, CA and want dial Santa Clara, CA telephone, press 1408 ********.

Special Function Keys

There are two special function keys on the keypad, one is “#”. Its function is to delete a line of number. For example, if you have dialed 14087483321, by pressing “#” can help you to delete the whole line.

The other special function key is “*”. Its function is backspace. It is able to delete a figure one by one. For example, you dial 1408 , then you want to change it to 1408, first press “*” , delete the wrong figures then press 8 ………….

How do I adjust my PC-Cillin Internet Security settings?
Open PC-Cillin Internet Security.
Click 'Network Security' along the left side.
Click 'Edit.'
From the 'Personal Firewall Profile' window, open the 'Exception List.'
Click 'Add.'
Enter the following information in the appropriate fields:
* Description: shellvoip
* Target: 'Specified Application' (enter ') * Action: Allow
* Ports: All Ports
Click 'Save.'

How do I adjust my McAfee Personal Firewall settings?
Open McAfee Personal Firewall.
Select 'Personal Firewall Plus' along the left side.
Click 'View the Internet Application List.'
Find 'shellvoip' in the 'Application Name' column.
Right-click ' shellvoip ,' and select 'Allow Full Access.' (If you don't see ' shellvoip ' in the
'Application Name' column, click 'Allow New Application' and enter '')
Exit McAfee Personal Firewall.

How do I adjust my Tiny Personal Firewall settings?
Open Tiny Personal Firewall.
Go to the 'Administration Center.'
From the 'Groups' menu, click 'Trusted.'
Click 'Enroll.'
Enter ' shellvoip ' in the application name field, and then enter
Click 'Save.'

How do I adjust my ZoneAlarm settings?
Open ZoneAlarm.
Select 'Program Control' along the left side.
Find ' shellvoip,' and click each red ‘X’ so they are now green.
Select 'Allow.'
Exit ZoneAlarm.

If I have an external firewall, which ports need to be opened ?
The following Destination ports need to be allowed on your firewall: UDP 5060
UDP 11112
UDP 10300 - 10311
UDP 6901 – 6920

How do I adjust my Norton Personal Firewall settings?

Open Norton Personal Firewall.
Select 'Status & Settings' from the left menu bar.
Choose 'Personal Firewall' from the middle column.
Click 'Configure.'
In the new window, open the 'Programs' tab.
Find ' shellvoip ' in the 'Manual Program Control' table.
Click the 'Internet Access' column for shellvoip, and select 'Allow All.'
Click 'OK.'
